Houses of Hope recognise hobbies, leisure and sporting activities play an integral part in the social and emotional development of the service user. Each individual is given the oppotunity to engage in activities of their choice whilst also being encouraged to identify with a hobby, leisure, or sporting activity outside of the accommodation. The service user may have existing hobbies or want to try something completely new such as joining a book club, swimming, football and other leisure activities.
Our accommodations are quite spacious with large outdoor areas giving us plenty of room to have regular group activities (both indoors and outdoors). Staff will discuss with service users any ideas and suggestions they may have for any upcoming activities during house meetings and arrange for the service users to actively participate. This can be done through anything from art, game nights and movie sessions to baking, gardening, football and cricket.
