Part of our aim is to ensure the service user recognises and develops their social skills to enable them to integrate into communities and society as a whole. Regardless of the barriers or obstacles faced we believe that everyone should be given a chance to be involved and play an active role within their community where possible. We live in a very diverse world with lots of amazing individuals and are surrounded by numerous wonderful cultures to which we encourage others to embrace. At Houses of Hope, those who stay with us are helped to develop their social skills through the group living experience as well as involvement in community activities whilst encouraging them to feel part of the group and able to own and build upon their experiences.
The staff at Houses of Hope work towards empowering service users so that they will be able to live within the community with a sense of pride, sense of belonging and social responsibility.
Community integration can help service users by
